Privacy Policy
LazyCalAI · Last updated: July 14, 2026
LazyCalAI ("the app", "we", "us") is a free mobile app that estimates the nutrition of a meal from a photo. This policy explains what data the app handles, the third-party service it relies on, and your choices. By using LazyCalAI you agree to this policy.
1. What the app collects
| Data | Why | Kept |
|---|---|---|
| The meal photo you submit | To generate a nutrition estimate | Forwarded to a third-party AI provider (see section 2) for analysis; not stored on our server after the request completes |
| App install identifier (a random per-install ID) | To enforce free-usage limits | Stored on our server |
| IP address | To enforce free-usage limits and prevent abuse | Stored on our server |
We do not ask for your name, email, account, or login. We do not use advertising or analytics trackers, and we do not sell your data.
2. Third-party AI providers
To analyze your photo, LazyCalAI sends it to a third-party AI provider. This is essential to how the app works — the app cannot estimate nutrition without it. Depending on the AI provider you choose, your photo may be processed with:
- Google (Gemini) — Privacy Policy
- OpenAI (GPT) — Privacy Policy
- Anthropic (Claude) — Privacy Policy
- xAI (Grok) — Privacy Policy
- Alibaba (Qwen) — Privacy Policy
- OpenRouter (routing service that may forward your request to any of the providers above or others) — Privacy Policy
Once your photo is sent to one of these providers, it is handled under that provider's own terms and privacy policy, not ours. The provider may collect, process, retain, and share that data according to its policies, which are outside our control. We are not responsible for how any third-party provider collects, uses, stores, or shares data you submit. Please review the linked policies above.
3. How we use data
We use the limited data above only to (a) return your nutrition estimate and (b) apply the free-usage limit and prevent abuse. We do not use it for any other purpose.
4. Data sharing
We do not sell or rent your data. The only sharing is the technical act of sending your photo to a third-party AI provider so the app can work, as described above.
5. Children
LazyCalAI is not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect data from them.
6. Your choices
Using the app is voluntary. If you do not want your photo processed by a third-party AI service, do not submit it. You may stop using the app and uninstall it at any time. To request deletion of the usage records tied to your install, contact us using the email below.
7. Changes to this policy
We may update this policy from time to time. Material changes will be reflected by the "Last updated" date above.
